The Vacuum breaker valve, is a valve that helps to balance the vacuum pressure in pipes, tanks, filter tanks, closed water supply systems.
When the water pressure in the closed system is positive, the negative pressure valve will close to form a closed system with complete positive pressure, but when the system is stopped or the demand for water is higher than the input pump system, at that time the vacuum pressure will take place inside. Then the negative pressure valve will open to let the air flow in to balance the vacuum pressure in the system. This helps to keep the pipeline system, tanks, filter tanks and closed water supply system safe

When you buy a filter tank with big size more than 4272 (1050mm), you should better to install the vacuum breaker valve by Clamp saddled as photo below:
If your filter system does not have this built-in negative pressure valve, you can buy a separate negative pressure valve to install it right away.
